Cave Kayaking at Nohoch Che’en Caves

Kayak in comfort from darkness into open lush jungle enjoying the sunlight and sounds of birds. Enter back into Xibalba on amazing turquoise waters and towering cave entrances, creating unlimited Kodak moments!

The tour starts from the Hummingbird Highway with a 30-minute drive in an open air 4 x 4 transport vehicle to the starting point.
A safety briefing is completed with participants at the cave entrance.
The cave kayaking tour includes a series of cave entrances and exits, with daylight “windows” at various places created by cenote/sinks.
Enjoy a riverside rest and snack followed by a 30-minute portage with the inflatable kayaks carried by guides and participants. Our guides will assist as
required through high canopy rainforest and into a cave opening where we continue downstream through the limestone cave systems, ending at the visitor center at Nohoch Cheʼen Archaeological Reserve.
The Cave Kayaking tour passes through the entire wet cave system located within the Nohoch Cheʼen Archaeological Reserve; hence this is an all-day adventure

What to Bring/Wear:

Lunch, Snack Bars and (2) two liters of water
Day Pack that can get wet (does not need to be waterproof)
Tennis shoes or Water shoes with thick sole (participants will get wet, toes and feet must be protected)
Swim wear with shorts and shirt (quick dry preferably)
Insect repellent
Extra pair of dry clothes stays in pick up vehicle
Cameras must be waterproof with hand straps or floatable attachment
