Canyoning & Lake Kayaking

Just when you think you’ve discovered all there is to see in Belize, there’s always a new spectacular spot to explore! This is the case with our Five Blues Lake Canyoning, which explores amazing canyon cave systems. It features spectacular towering canyons covered with air plants, penetrated with sun beams through the jungle.

The tour starts from our meeting point in our compound with a 10-minute drive in an open air 4 x 4 Transport Vehicle to the 5 Blues Lake National Park. A Safety Briefing is completed with participants at the start of the hike. The hike takes about 45 minutes through lush jungle enjoying the sunlight and sounds of wildlife with a chance of seeing howler monkeys and different species of birds in the upper canopy. As we enter the Duende Cave system, an explanation is done on the geology and history of the cave systems which were once used by our ancient ancestors- the Mayas.
The total time spent in the cave is approximately 1.5 hours. After exiting the cave, we hike through lush jungle for 30 minutes followed by snack refreshments, then we get geared for some refreshing lake kayaking and swimming.
This amazing adventure is all within the Five Blues Lake National Park, which has been gaining popularity in the last couple of years despite being established since the 1990s. Named after the five different shades of blue that make up the lake, this 4,250-acre national park is ideal for hiking and swimming and is easily accessible off Mile 32 on the Hummingbird Highway.
